Industry Specific ComplianceThe Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on July 01, 2026, issued the notification regarding the Acceptance of RTR (A), RTR(C) and RTR (P) issued by WPC, DoT.

The following has been stated namely: -

• The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has taken over the Radio Telephone Operator (Restricted) [RTR] Certificate and Licence examinations and issuance with effect from December 01, 2025. 

• RTR Certificates/Licences issued or renewed by the Wireless Planning & Coordination (WPC) Wing, DoT will be accepted by DGCA only until July 15 2026

• After July 15 2026, WPC-issued RTR Certificates/Licences will no longer be accepted for licensing, examination, or regulatory purposes by DGCA. 

• Candidates seeking issuance, renewal, or other RTR-related services must follow the procedures prescribed by DGCA. 

• The notification marks the complete transition of RTR certification and licensing functions from WPC to DGCA.
